Billy Trotter passed away March 10, 2005. He was born in Van Alstyne, Texas on June 29, 1925 to Otis and Jessie Trotter.
Billy joined the Navy in 1942 at age 17. He served in the Navy Amphibious Force, Attu, Keska, where many a brave lad lost his pal. He served on the U.S.S. Zeiline A.P.A3. Billy served on the U.S.S. Agc Rocky Mount in the South Pacific. Billy run a P.T. Boat first in on the island in the Pacific. In 1945 Billy left the Navy and came back to Texas. After a few months he joined the Army, served in bases in the U.S.A., Puerto Rico and Germany. He served in WWII, Korea, Vietnam and the Cold War. He served 20 plus years for freedom. He retired in 1963 to make a home for his family, he said a permit home. He lived in Euless, Texas eleven years. He and his wife built their home of 31 years in Johnson County, Tx.
Mr. Trotter was the President of NAUF, Chapter 12, in Ft. Worth.
Billy Joe Trotter is survived by his wife of 54 years Frances Trotter; one son, Richard and wife Drena of Blum; two granddaughters, Anna Wallace and husband Mark of Benbrook and Susie Peters and husband Tim of Fort Worth; one great grandson, Austin Wallace of Benbrook.
He will be dearly missed by all in the family. He was a special person, a caring friend and most of all a very special grandfather and a loving husband. We will all miss him very much in our life. We know he is safe with the Lord in Heaven.
