Memorial service for Billy Don Williams, 89, of Alvarado will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, October 18, 2014 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel.
Billy Don “B.D.” Williams passed away Monday, October 13, 2014 in Fort Worth. He was born October 28, 1924 in Gilmore, Texas to “Pete” Green Smith and Jessie Verda Alexander Williams. He married Katie Morine White on November 14, 1942 in Willow Oaks, Texas.
Mr. Williams served as a Sergeant in the United States Marines during WWII. He was a truck driver, retiring from Brown Express with 37 years of service. He was a music lover who sang, played guitar and even yodeled. Gardening, working on cars, and traveling through the United States were also favorite past times. He was a talented carpenter who built his own home and others and was an avid Cowboys fan. Mr. Williams was a member of the Teamsters Union and was of the Presbyterian faith.
Survivors include his children, Don Michael Williams, Dorothy Kathleen Williams, Laura Beth Junell and husband Ike, and April Dianne Higbee and husband Gary; 12 grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; siblings, Glenn Williams, Lolita Lloyd, Louise Guthrie; beloved dog, Katy; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and brothers, Carlton Williams and Ernest Earl Williams; and longtime companion, Janet Collins.
