Just a little after midnight and slightly before her 89th birthday, Birta Lee Montgomery was called home to be with her Lord and Saviour.
Birta Lee was born in Bono, Texas on June 5, 1919 and passed away on May 2, 2008 at the Town Hall Estates in Keene,Texas. She was the daughter of John Calvin Bryant and Rosa Lee Creasey Bryant. She was married to Olen D. (Kit) Montgomery and was of the Baptist Faith.
Birta Lee was retired from the Rangaire Company after many years of service. She was a homemaker and her devotion to her family was supported by her love of her friends. She was a lady of honor and very strong convictions of which she didn't mind letting you know about even though most were hidden behind a tough exterior, yet she was kind and generous at heart. She will be greatly missed as she was greatly loved.
Services for Birta Lee Montgomery will be held at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home Chapel, in Cleburne, with burial in Greenacres Memorial Park.
The family will receive visitors from 6-8 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.
Birta Lee is survived by her sons, Olen L. (Butch) Montgomery, of Cleburne, Phillip E. Montgomery and wife, Bobbie, of Alvarado, Wesley M. Montgomery and wife, Sharon, of Keene and David M.Montgomery and wife, Geri,, of Keene; seventeen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and lots of dearly loved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Rosa Lee Bryant, husband, Olen D.(Kit) Montgomery, daughter, Patsy A. Braddock, brothers, W.R. (Bill) Bryant, Donald Bryant, sisters, Hazle Montgomery, Vela Whitt, Lela Bryant, Bessie Fagan, Frankie Townes and Bobbie Binford.
The family wishes to thank Town Hall Estates and all of thecaregivers for their many years of service to Birta Lee.
