Services for Bobby (Bob) Elliott, 70, of Weatherford, will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 3, 2007 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Rev. John Denson of Weatherford will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Bobby (Bob) Elliott passed away Monday, January 30, 2007 at his home after a bout with lung cancer. Born in Munday, Texas, December 6, 1936 he was 70 years, 1 month and 24 days old.
Mr. Elliott served in the United States Marine Corp for 6 years, serving both in Korea and China. He drove a truck for Valley Trucking several years out of the Rio Grande Valley where he lived for a time. He also drove for Ft. Worth Pipe, N.L. Jones and Burleson Pipe and Steel. He was employed by Chapman Constuction in Carrolton for about 10 years, retiring in 1999.
Bob married Norma Lou (Landers) Cheek, June 12, 1970 in Lawton, Oklahoma. They were married 36 years in June.
Mr. Elliott was a very faithful member of Southside Baptist Church in Weatherford and up until a few months ago was faithful in his service. It was very upsetting to him when he could no longer attend.
Besides his wife, Norma Lou, he is survived by daughters, Marcianna Bryant and Brendan, of Oklahoma, Kristie Mayhall and Sandra Cheek Fox and Chuck of Weatherford; sister, Jo Ann Bair of Edinburg, Texas and five granddaughters, Brandi Huddleston and Ed of Keller, Tiffany Lund and Jeffrey of Ft. Worth, Sara Fox of Weatherford, Jessica Gibson and Brad of Oklahoma and Heather of Oklahoma; four grandsons, Blake and Jordan Mayhall of Weatherford and Spencer Elliott and Aaron Bryant of Oklahoma; great-granddaughter, Tristan Jae Huddleston of Keller and great-grandson, Hunter of Fairview, Oklahoma; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Wanda, 2 brothers, James and Edward; his parents, Francis Elliott and Edna Burrow and daughter, Linda Cheek.
