Bobbie Allen

Service for Bobbie Jack Allen, 83, of Cleburne will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, December 30, 2010 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Pastor Dominic Valero and Pastor Weldon Coble will officiate. Pallbearers will be Mr. Allen's grandsons. Burial will be in the Cleburne Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M. Wednesday.

On December 26, 2010 Bobbie Jack Allen went to his heavenly home. He was born August 7, 1927 in Mt. Pleasant to Robert and Jessie Rhea Allen. He married Bettie Walker on March 17, 1991 in Cleburne.

Bobbie was retired from the U.S. Navy after 25 years of service. He was a war veteran of WWII, Korean Conflict, Berlin Recall, Cuban Crisis, Dominican Crisis and Vietnam Conflict. Among his many decorations, he was awarded the Navy Cross Medal, Purple Heart, Navy Commendation Medal, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with two bronze stars, WWII Victory Medal, Navy Occupational Service Medal (Asia), China Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal with one bronze star, Korean Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with two bronze stars, Combat Medal and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.

Bobbie is survived by his wife, Bettie and his children, Curtis and Elizabeth, Lynn and Robert, Carol and Gary, Patricia and Don, Kathy and Charlie, Karen and Eddie, Cyndi and Don, as well as 17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, David. His friends and family are humbled by the man he was and the legacy he left.
