Bobby Joe Steadman passed over to the Land of Glory on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 in Cleburne. He was born April 3, 1937 in Cleburne to Tom Lee and Ethel Mae Stinson Steadman. Joe married the love of his life, Nelda Lou Bonham on Dec. 8, 1956 and they recently celebrated their 60th anniversary.
Joe was of the Christian faith and a long-time member of Lane Prairie Baptist Church. He worked for the Santa Fe Shops in Cleburne, but was best known and loved for the many years at Levels in Joshua where he retired from. If you knew Joe, you were sure to get a big hug, a smile, a random joke, or a silly song.
Our dad, pop, papaw, peapaw, and peeps was a strong man in his Christian faith, adored by his family and a special friend to many. He was always ready for a fishing trip, played a mean game of dominoes, and was our favorite clam digger volleyball player.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Nelda Steadman of Cleburne; two sons, Joe David Steadman and wife Sebrena and Jim Steadman and wife Donna; all of Cleburne; daughter, Melia Fellers and husband Cody of Joshua; ten grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother; and one great granddaughter.
