Memorial service for Bobby Gene Smith (Smitty), 81, of Cleburne will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel.
Mr. Smith passed away Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011 in Ft. Worth. He was born January 25, 1930 in Cleburne to Theodore Franklin and Josie Adaline Campbell Smith. He married Ina Faye York in Cleburne.
"Smitty" served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean war. He was an electrical engineer, working at Santa Fe Railroad, Lockheed Martin, Xerox and finally retiring from Intecom Corp. He was of the Baptist faith. His family was his focus. He was dedicated, devoted and doting where his girls were concerned. He was talented in woodworking, especially furniture making. He was known for his ability to truly listen and for his loyalty. Smitty's supportive nature and giving spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include daughters, Sherry Smith and Kimberly Hogg and husband Randall; grandchildren, Amber Hohstadt, Scott Knowles and Clinton Hogg; great grandchildren, Reagan Blanchette, Emerald Knowles, Lucus Knowles and Gunnar Hogg (on the way); several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Ina Faye Smith and six siblings.
