Bonnie Burgess

Service for Bonnie Helms Burgess, 84, of Weatherford will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Monday, January 23, 2023 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Reverend John Glover and Sonny Burgess will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenacres Memorial Park. Visitation will be 3-5:00 P.M., Sunday, January 22, 2023 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Doug Weisser, Sonny Burgess, Steve Helms, Gary Wallis, Robert Perez and Kenneth Wallis. Honorary pallbearers will be Scott Burgess, Jim Garey and Barry Simms.
Bonnie passed away January 17, 2023 in Weatherford. She was born March 17, 1938 in Alvarado to Clois and Alline Lee Helms. Bonnie married James Leon Burgess on December 14, 1956 in Cleburne. She was a clerk for Santa Fe railroad for 18 years and for Johnson County District Clerks Office for 14 years. She was a member of Field Street Baptist Church.
Bonnie is survived by her son, Ronny Burgess and wife Veta of Waco; daughter Angie Martin and husband Kirk of Weatherford; grandchildren, Julie Elmore, Melissa Weisser, Chance Martin, Hattie Burgess, Dustin Burgess, Courtney Banks; 10 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and brothers Butch Helms of Cleburne, Jimmy Helms and wife Vicki of Cleburne and Bobby Helms of Cleburne,
Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Leon Burgess in 2012 and brother, Leon Helms.
