On September 5, 2011, Brandi Michelle Harrell, 34, of Cleburne passed away in the arms of her mother after a long bout with cancer. She is survived by her 13 year old son, Ian Sadler, her mother and stepfather, Jackie and Paul Beatty, her biological father, Ronny Harrell, her very special aunt, Barbara West, paternal grandmother, Lena Harrell, as well as numerous cousins.
Brandi was preceded in death by her grandparents, Van and Jean Priesmuth of Bonham, Jack and Rosie Kyle of Blum and paternal grandfather, Virgil Harrell of Rio Vista.
Brandi was born July 13, 1977 in Cleburne. She attended Cleburne schools and graduated in 1994. She earned a B.A. in psychology from the University of North Texas, Denton in August of 2000. For four years Brandi taught a BIC class in the special education department of Fort Worth ISD. She also taught a self-contained special education class at Castleberry High School in Castleberry ISD for one year. After returning to Cleburne, she was a regular substitute and taught summer school for Cleburne ISD.
Brandi will be tremendously missed by many friends and family who knew her best. Her wit and compassion are a great loss.
Services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, September 8, 2011 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. The Reverend John Glover of Field Street Baptist Church and Father Richard McHenry of Holy Comforter will officiate. Pallbearers will be Kevin Phillips, Austin Owen, Tommy Robinson, Rick Yates, Bob Pritchard, Kevin Sellers and Deronn Littles. Honorary pallbearer will be Earl Green. Burial will be in the family plot in Blum Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to her oncologist, Dr. D'Etta Vasquez,
Dr. Presanthi Ganesa and her entire staff, Jannette, Danielle, Tonya and Bob, the chemo nurse, all of the Cancer Center on Magnolia in Fort Worth. A very grateful acknowledgement is also given to a special "cousin", Kelly Owen. Kelly gave endless hours along with her aunt Barbara to make Brandi's final weeks special. There are no words to express the gratitude to Community Hospice of Cleburne. All of their employees quickly became family and friends. Their compassion, love and ultimate care gave joy and dignity to Brandi by making an unbearable situation bearable.
