Private services for Brenda Godbey Robinson, 78, of Cleburne, will be conducted Monday, May 11, 2020 in the Parker Church of Christ in Grandview, Texas. Public burial will follow in Grange Hall Cemetery, Rio Vista, Texas at 12:00 P.M. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
Brenda Robinson passed away May 7, 2020 in Weatherford, Texas. She was born March 16, 1942 in Fort Worth, Texas to Robert Carson Godbey, who passed when Brenda was young, Otis Barton and Oretha (Myers) Godbey Barton. She married Donald Robinson in Alvarado, Texas on October 3, 1964. He preceded her in death on September 28, 2012. Mrs. Robinson was a Sales Support Specialist with Radio Shack.
Brenda Robinson was a faithful Christian woman and an active member of Eastern Star. She welcomed all the new residents at the nursing home and prayed with those who had difficulty adjusting. Strong willed, she instilled the will to fight and live in those that had given up hope. Not only was she a loving mother to her own children but also she extended her love to many others and would care for them as if they were her own. She loved to travel all over the world. Playing games with her brothers and sisters-in-law was one of her passions. She stayed up to date on current events.
Survivors include her sons, Shelby Britt and wife Jodie, Steve Britt and wife Renita, and Bill Robinson; daughters, Traci Lewis and husband Mark, Kim Hamilton and husband Mike, Sharon Estes and husband Chuck; and daughter-in-law, Michelle Robinson; brother, Greg Barton and wife Bobbie; 25 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and numerous other family and friends.
Also preceding her in death are her sons, Donald Robinson, Jr., Gary Don Robinson, Sr.; granddaughter, Salinda Britt; grandson, Maleek Flores; her parents; brother, Bobby Godbey; and sisters, Wanda Morrow and Eudine Lay.
