Services for beloved son, Brent Lloyd Smith, 35, of Red Oak, will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 13, 2008, in the Calvary Baptist Church. 700 Woodard Ave., Cleburne,TX. The Rev. Charles Payne will officiate. Burial will be in Godley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gary Roden, Ricky Roden, Brian Galbreath, Bradley Galbreath, Brett Galbreath, Eric Nickols, Mark Nickols and Fab Salas. Honorary pallbearers will be John Beasley, Casey Harp, Anthony Lopez, Kevin Messer, the Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity, the Dallas Mavericks Basketball Team and the Staff of Global Games Tournaments.
Brent Lloyd Smith passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2008 in Dallas. He was born January 30, 1973 in Mineral Wells to Gary Lloyd and Sharon Darlene Roden Smith. He married Shellye Ryan Bixler.
Brent was a salesman for Ascension Capital Group. He was a Division I basketball referee and an inter-squad referee for the Dallas Mavericks. Brent was the USA representative for the Global Games Tournaments and enjoyed paintball competition. He was a member of Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity and the Calvary Baptist Church, Cleburne.
Those left to cherish Brent's memories are: his wife, Shellye Smith; son, Blayne Smith both of Red Oak; step-daughter, Maisye Tucker; mother, Sharon Smith of Joshua; father, Gary Smith and wife, Cathy of Leavenworth, Kansas; sister, Brook Hubbard and husband, Casey of Godley; brother, Justin Lloyd Smith and niece, Bree Hubbard and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, L.D. and Imogene Roden and Lloyd and Audry Smith.
