Graveside services with military honors at the Central Texas State Veteran’s Cemetery in Killeen, Texas for Brian David Summers, 53, of Grandview, Texas and formerly of Pensacola, Florida, will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Monday, February 4, 2013.

Mr. Summers passed away at his home on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 in Grandview, Texas. He was born to Gene Talmadge and Joan Glenn Dunlavy Summers on May 31, 1959 in Toule Rosiare, France. Brian worked as a finishing carpenter contractor for numerous years. His passion and hard work lended to many memorable works of carpentry. Brian was of non-denominational Christian faith. He was a family man, remaining very close to his siblings and their families throughout his lifetime. He was an avid sports fan, especially of any kind of football and of the Texas Rangers baseball team. Brian enjoyed spending time “tinkering” with automobiles and all mechanical things. He also spent countless hours fishing and enjoying feasting on his catch. Another favorite of Brian’s pastimes was golfing with his fathers and friends. He will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him. Brian is preceded in death by his father, Gene Talmadge Summers and step father, Larry E. Mills.
Survivors include his mother, Joan Mills; siblings, Gene H. Summers and his wife, Brenda, Scherry Barnett and her husband, Mike, Brenda J. Roughton and her husband, Donny, R. Scott Summers and his companion, Connie; 7 nieces and nephews, eight great nieces and nephews; longtime companion, Carolyn Dyess; and a host of other relatives and friends.
