Service for Bryson Van Zandt, 83, of Cleburne will be conducted at 1:30 P.M., Thursday, January 16, 2014 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. The Reverend Charles E. Payne and the Reverend Brooks Monk will officiate. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Wayne, Michael, Phillip, Brandon, Sean and Devon Van Zandt. Visitation will be from 6-8:P.M., Wednesday, at the funeral home.
Mr. Van Zandt passed away Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014 in Ft. Worth. He was born March 23, 1930 in Granbury to Tom Bryson and Delia Carroll Van Zandt. He married Audrey Mae Rice on Feb. 11, 1950 in Cleburne.
Mr. Van Zandt served in the United States Air Force and then worked as head timekeeper for the Santa Fe Railroad until retirement. He was a member of the Cleburne Masonic Lodge No. 315 and Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Audrey Van Zandt of Cleburne; three sons, Ronald Van Zandt and wife Timalene of Whitney, Danny Van Zandt and wife Sarah of San Antonio, and Darryl Van Zandt and wife Joyce of Grandview; seven grandchildren, Wayne, Michael, and Phillip Van Zandt, Michelle Bryan, Wendi Cabano, Brandon and Sean Van Zandt; 10 great grandchildren; brother, Tom Van Zandt of Granbury; and a sister, Sherria Smith and husband Stan of Houston.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Faye.
