Burley Matthews

After a brief illness, Burley Marvin Matthews, of Joshua, passed away on April 3, 2017. He was 86. Visitation will be on Saturday April 22, 2017 at Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home between 4-6 pm; followed by a 2 p.m. graveside service on Saturday April 29, 2017 at Gibtown Cemetery.
He was born August 4, 1930 to Sam and Madolyn Matthews. He married his beloved wife, Wanda, on September 21, 1957. He was a machinist by trade and a huge NASCAR and Dallas Cowboys fan. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and friend to many. He will be badly missed.
Survivors include his son, Steven, granddaughter, Aislinn, sisters, Dorothy and Mary Anne, brothers, Stanley, Richard and Lynn and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Wanda, along with his sisters, Floy and Bessie and his brother, Joe (Rusty).
