Graveside services for C.J. Moore, 79, of Joshua, will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at Rio Vista Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6:00-8:00pm.
Mr. Moore passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2009 in Grandview. He was born to the late, James Ennis and Nona Stanley Moore on January 15, 1930 in Hill County. He married Freda Jo Rose on December 29, 1953 in Waxahachie. They were married 39 years at the time of her death in 1991. Mr. Moore served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was of the Church of Christ faith. C.J. worked as a machinist for numerous years, retiring at the age of 67 and over 15 years service with Conveyors, Inc. in Mansfield. He was an honorable man with strong ethics, one that if he told you something, you were able to count on it. He was a giving man, always willing to help others. C.J. enjoyed buying, selling, and trading guns and cars. He will be missed greatly by all those that knew and loved him. Mr. Moore was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother, Bobby; and sisters, Dorothy and Helen.
Survivors include his children and their spouses, Ronald Moore, Judy Tidwell and Ronnie, Roger Moore and Shari; eight grandchildren, Wesley Moore, Tammy Hoyt, Randy Tidwell, Shannon Tidwell, Brandon Moore, Rowdy Moore, Michael Pugh, and Marcus Pugh; three great grandchildren; siblings, Earl Moore, Wendell Moore, and Joyce Moore; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
