Service for Carl Dean Peppers, 79, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Friday, May 10, 2013 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Mr. Buddy Fry and the Reverend Russell Allen will officiate. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Bobby Self, Scotty Self, David Self, Bret Self, Willis Hughes and Dalton Hughes.

Carl Peppers passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2013 in Fort Worth. He was born February 7, 1934 in Lillian to James William and Ruby Pearl Albright Peppers. He married Barbara Jo Chapman on January 3, 1951 in Fort Worth.

Mr. Peppers was a supervisor at Santa Fe Railroad, Cleburne, retiring, after 40 years of service. He served in the US Army 82nd Airborne Division. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Grandview and the Dead Horse Club.

Carl is survived by his wife, Barbara Peppers of Cleburne; daughters, Laura Petty and husband Jerry of Grandview and Paula Smeltzer and husband Chuck of Harker Heights; sister, Willie Lee Davis of Alvarado; reared as children, Gary Dean Carlisle and Nathaniel Dean Guy; brother, Charles Peppers and wife Patsy of Alvarado; grandchildren, Jonathan Smeltzer and Candice Caldwell; great-grandchildren, Brooklynn, Mason Dean, D'Andre, Daniel, Mai, Bobby, Isabella and Gracie and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ruby Peppers; granddaughter, Andrea Lynn Smeltzer; sister Arlene Carlisle and brother Jimmy Peppers.
