A memorial service for Carl T. Simms, 85, of Cleburne will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Friday, Dec. 29, 2017 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. The Reverend Brooks Monk will officiate, assisted by the Reverend Charles Payne. Visitation will be from 10:30-11:00 A.M., Friday, prior to the service.
Carl T. Simms passed away Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2017 in Cleburne. He was born Nov. 14, 1932 in Alvarado to George Freeman and Ruby Bryant Simms. He married Doris Nell Moore on Feb. 22, 1952 in Weatherford.
Mr. Simms served in the United States Air Force. He worked as a boiler maker for Santa Fe Railroad, retiring with 24 years of service. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 65 years, Doris Simms of Cleburne; two sons, Steven K. Simms and wife Pam and Barry K. Simms and wife Sherry, all of Cleburne; sister, Doris K. Matthews of Irving; four grandchildren, Chase Simms and wife Trish, Shemele Hodges and husband Cole, Shadie Killen and husband Koy and Kolbie Blanchard and husband Jason; and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Frankie L. Simms and Goody Simms; and an infant sister.
