Carolyn Sue Kuhrt

In memory of Carolyn Sue Kuhrt, a devoted sister, wife, and daughter. Carolyn was born on March 7, 1938, in Colfax, Iowa where she grew up and graduated high school. She later attended a business training course in Omaha, Nebraska and went on to help her family in their hardware business for several years until she married Bob Kuhrt in 1964. She and her husband Bob moved to Cleburne, TX in 1965 where she worked in retail sales.

In 1988, they moved to Nacogdoches, TX where she lived with her husband as a homemaker and hospital volunteer. Carolyn served many years as a member of the Volunteer Auxiliary at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital. Her service there included over 18 years in the x-ray department and 15 years in the pastoral care department.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church for over twenty years, where she served as vice president of the United Methodist Women’s Group (UMW) for three years. In addition to her faithful attendance and support of the church’s work, she completed two lengthy Bible studies on becoming a better disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents Glenn and Ruth Allsup, her husband of twenty-five years Robert (Bob) Kuhrt, her brother Richard E. (Dick) Allsup and his wife Ja’net, and two nephews Gary and Bill Allsup. She is survived by nephews David Allsup of Austin, TX, Jim and Bonnie Allsup of Granbury, TX, and Robert and Joanne Allsup of Irving, TX.

Her celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, April 12, 2024 in Crosier Pearson Cleburne Chapel in Cleburne, TX. Visitation will be at 9:00 am, Friday, April 12, 2024, prior to the service.  Burial will follow at Rosehill Cemetery where she will be laid to rest alongside her husband and other family members.

Carolyn’s desire in this life and her joy forever in eternity will be, “Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.” Colossians 3:17
