Graveside service for Carolyn R. Ward, 80, of Keene, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, June 24, 2023, in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Reverend Earl Sides will officiate.
Carolyn passed away Monday, May 29, 2023, in Fort Worth. She was born October 8, 1942, in Fort Worth to William Lawrence and Jewel Wasser Ransom. She was of the Baptist faith. Carolyn worked as an English teacher for BISD; and volunteered and worked in a resale shop; was a dental assistant and worked in real estate. Grammy was a beacon of positivity for everyone she came in contact with. Her character shined in even the darkest of times. She taught resilience and unwavering faith in the face of adversity always. And couldn’t help but make a joke at any given opportunity. She loved family more than anything and did everything she could to keep her family together. She will always be remembered for her hospitality, humor, strength of character, level headedness and steadfast faith in the Lord. She will be greatly missed but she is surely flying free of worldly limitations now.
She is survived by her daughter, Whitney Carol Ward and son, Blake Elliott Ward and wife, Kasha; grandchildren, Jory Hicks and wife, Brett, Phoenix Glen Aviles, Connor Ward, and Grace Ward; special nieces, Kristi Taylor, Teresa Eppars, Kim Mathis, and Lyn Conley; longtime friends, Gary and Kim Fuller, and Linda Bobo; as well as a number of other family members and friends.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; Weldon Ward; siblings, Betty Genelle Ransom Hovatter, Joy Wynelle Ransom Williams, and William Lawrence Ransom, Jr.
