Cecil Matthews

Service for Cecil Matthews, 74, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, October 7, 2020 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Entombment will follow in Greenacres Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be 6-8:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at the funeral home.

Cecil Matthews passed away Friday, October 2, 2020 in Cleburne. He was born August 27, 1946 in Cleburne to J.C. and Annie (Thacker) Matthews. Cecil married Nelda Darlene Watson on June 3, 1994 in Cleburne. Cecil was an electrician and a member of Lane Prairie Baptist Church. Cecil was a jack of all trades especially wood working. He was a loving husband, good neighbor and loved his Cowboys.

Cecil is survived by his wife, Nelda Matthews; daughters, Bonnie James, Lori Thompson and husband Barrett; grandchildren, Tessa, Jami, Taytum, Addyson, Brayden; 4 great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

Cecil is preceded in death by his parents and sister Marcell Seay.
