Charlene Lain

Services for Charlene Lain, 71, of Kopperl, will be conducted at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, September 25, 2010 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. The Reverend Brent Farrin will officiate. Pallbearers will be Robbie Garland, G.W. Garland, Kenneth Lain, Cody Aaron, Jon Hinkle and Jesse Humphries. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Runnels, Brad Armstrong and Steve Trammell. Burial will follow in Baker-Lain Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M. Friday.

Mrs. Lain passed away Wednesday, September 22, 2010 in Fort Worth. She was born December 24, 1938 in Kopperl to Charles Henry and Florence Gee Riddle. She married George Lain on January 4, 1955 in Meridian.

Charlene was a beautician and a Past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star in Blum. She was a member of the Johnson County Extension Agency. She enjoyed working with 4-H Clubs and visiting in nursing homes. She was of the Baptist faith.

Charlene Lain is survived by her husband of 55 years, George Lain of Kopperl; four daughters, Georgia Garland and husband Bob, Pam Robinson and husband Jerry, Carol Carpenter and Sherry Edwards and husband Keith; sister Jeannie Newman and husband Bo; brother, Joe Riddle and wife Debbie; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, soon to be 14 and a number of nieces and nephews.
