Charles Johnson

Charles Ronald (Ron) Johnson long time resident of Cleburne, Texas; passed away on his family farm Tuesday, August 11, 2020, Ron was the oldest son of H.H. (Luke) Johnson and Anna Kathleen (Kat) Vernon Johnson. His date of birth was February 3, 1936.

Ron was a graduate of Rio Vista High School and attended Texas Tech in Lubbock.
He married Margaret Jane Pattillo in 1958 and had a long career in aircraft engineering followed by working at the phone company. Ron led a full life including Boy and Girl Scouting, bowling, fishing, hunting, water skiing, square dancing, vintage tractor pulling and being a member of Terry’s Texas Rangers.

He is preceded in death by his parents and younger brother Royce Duane (Bud) Johnson.

He is survived by his wife, Jane Johnson; son, Tim Johnson; daughter, Glenda Buchanan; grandchildren, Jason Gentry, Rebecca Gour, Martha Volker; great grandchildren, Julien, Emma and Miles Gentry, Hayden and Bridget Gour and Lane Volker.

Ron requested in lieu of flowers that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital at St. Jude.org or St. Jude 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN, 38105

There will be no visitation in respect to the concern of the Coronavirus. Graveside service will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Monday, August 17, 2020 in Rio Vista Cemetery. Brother Neal Oliver will officiate. Terry’s Texas Rangers will provide an honor ceremony for the graveside.
