Charles Melton

Service for Charles Elbert Melton, 83, of Cleburne will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Monday, May 16, 2022 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Burial will follow in Rio Vista Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7:00 P.M., Sunday, May 15, 2022 at the funeral home.

Charles passed away May 11, 2022 in Cleburne. He was born December 8, 1938 in Eddy, Texas to Elbert Hubbard and Ruby Lee Meyers Melton. Charles married Dianne Crecelius on November 1, 1963 in Rio Vista. He was an electrician for the City of Duncanville for 10 years before retiring. Charles loved gardening, planting trees and fixing things. He was an Army veteran and member of Granbury Street Church of Christ in Cleburne. He was also a train enthusiast.

Charles is survived by his wife, Dianne Melton of Cleburne; son, Deon Melton of Fort Worth and sister, Sandra Justiss of Grapevine.

Preceded in death by his, parents; brother David “Butch” Melton and half brother, Wendell Melton.
