Charles Douglas Sides, passed away on December 7, 2024, in Waco, Texas. He was born on December 26, 1942, in Dallas, Texas, and lived a life characterized by both a no-nonsense approach and a deep compassion for others.
Charles was known "as Country as Country could be," a phrase that perfectly encapsulated his demeanor and way of life. He was a serious man who told it like it was and had a rare ability to offer his heart to those in need. Throughout his life, Charles made it a priority to help anyone he could.
He is survived by his loving family, including his son, Randy Earl Sides and wife Niki; his daughter, Lori Sides Woodcraft and husband Corey; and his cherished grandchildren, Brandon Collins and wife Lindsey, Brandi Morbach and husband James, Cody Sides, Colin Sides, and Christian Sides and wife Abigail. Charles was also a proud grandfather to six great-grandchildren.
In addition to his family, Charles shared a special bond with his good friend Carol Schoolcraft, to whom he extended a heartfelt and appreciative "Thank You" for her companionship and support.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Marion M. and Una Mae Todd Sides; wife, Sandra Massengale Sides; two sisters, Mary Cox and Ruth Nutting; one brother, Lee Weldon Sides; and one half-brother, James Sides and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service to honor Charles Douglas Sides will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at Rosehill Cemetery in Cleburne, Texas, at 1:00 PM, This gathering will provide an opportunity for family and friends to reflect on his life, share their memories, and find solace in the company of one another during this time of loss.
His life will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, as they remember not only his serious demeanor but also the huge heart that lay behind it. Charles Douglas Sides was truly a remarkable individual whose life touched many others, and his presence will be deeply missed.
