Graveside service for Charles Lee Yancey, 88, of Arlington, will be conducted at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, September 9, 2021, in Rosehill Cemetery in Cleburne. Chaplain Eddy Carrell will officiate.
Mr. Yancey passed away Friday, September 3, 2021, in Arlington. He was born July 30, 1933, in Godley to Marvin Lee Yancey and Lucile Gray Yancey. He married Cecile Marie Pitts on August 27, 1989, in Arlington. Mr. Yancey was an A/C repairman and painter. He worked for Lennox Air Conditioning with 36 plus years of service. Mr. Yancey was of the Christian faith. He served time in the Texas National Guard, before joining the United States Army. He was a veteran of the Korean war.
Mr. Yancey is survived by his wife of 32 years, Cecile Yancey of Arlington; children, Chuck Yancey and wife, Kate of Bristol, VA., Walter Craig Yancey and wife, Jane of Wesley Chapel, FL., Carol VanCleef and husband, Doug of Oak Ridge, TN., and Mary Lee O’Brien of AR.; stepchildren, Karla Gray and husband, Rick of Ft. Worth, Raymond Scott Hardy and wife, Evelyn of Arlington; 10 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; step-brother, Johnny Key and wife, Louise of Ft. Worth; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
