Charlie Owens

Services for Charlie Samuel "Ike" Owens, 81, of Joshua, will be conducted 4:00 p.m. Thursday, January 17, 2008 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Rev. Welton Stoker will officiate. Pallbearers will be Terry Peterson, Nick Medlin, Drew Lewis, Kenneth Hill, Lloyd Peacock, Ray Miller, Dan Owens, Jr. and Josh Mullins. Honorary pallbearers will be Aaron Owens, Casey Malone, Bobby Forbes and Josh Esquivel.
Charlie "Ike" Owens passed on January 14, 2008 at his home after a lengthy illness with his family by his side. He was born March 19, 1926 in Joshua, TX to Peter Columbus and Nettie Davis Owens. He married Lucille Francis Miller on March 7, 1986 in Cleburne, TX.
Mr. Owens was a building contractor and was of the Baptist faith. He was an avid fisherman and loved dancing.
Ike Owens is survived by his sons, Donald Mark Owens and wife, Sherri of Cleburne and Danny Clark Owens and wife, Lori of Burleson; daughter, Delisa Nelson of Sherman; 3 grandsons; 5 granddaughters; 7 great-grandsons; 7 great-granddaughters; sisters, Imogene Lain of Joshua, Dorcas Havins of McKinney, Eula Davis of Waxahachie and special friend, Deen. A special appreciation for caregivers, Sonya Thompson and Ray Miller. He was preceded in death by his wife; 3 brothers and one sister.
