Service for Charlotte Jane Hollimon Maddox, 86, of Grandview will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Monday, June 27, 2016 in the First Baptist Church of Grandview. Burial will be at Grandview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-6:00 P.M., Saturday, at the church.
Charlotte Jane Hollimon Maddox passed away Friday, June 24, 2016 in Ft. Worth. She was born March 11, 1930 in Itasca to Aubrey and Almedia Siratt Hollimon and was a 1947 graduate of Grandview High School. She married Rex M. Maddox of Alvarado and they were married for over 64 years.
Mrs. Maddox worked for a professor at Texas A&M to help support Rex through veterinary school. She was a devoted wife and beloved mother. For many years she taught Sunday School to preschool age children. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, who worked for the USDA to places such as Washington D.C., Orlando, Atlanta, Denver, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal Canada.
Charlotte was a fashionista, who loved to be at the top of her game. She completed the John Robert Powers School of Modeling and was employed by Margos La Mode in Ft. Worth for many years.
Survivors include her beloved husband, Dr. Rex Maddox; son, Monte Maddox; sister-in-law, Arlene Hollimon; aunt, Genevieve Siratt; one niece; several nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Gary; and a daughter, Shirley.
