Graveside service for Chester Johnson, 91, of Cleburne will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, July 31, 2021 in Blum Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8:00 P.M., Friday, July 30, 2021 at the funeral home.
Chester passed away July 27, 2021 in Waco. He was born January 22, 1930 in Kimball Bend to Chester and Viola Galloway Johnson. Chester married Aurrellia Katherine Jones on January 17, 1948 in Cleburne. Chester was an area manager for SW Bell Telephone with 37 years of service.
Chester was both a Mason and member of the Order of the Eastern Star with the Cleburne Masonic Lodge No. 315. He was very proud of his service and helping establish the Masonic home in Arlington. He entered the Merchant Marine Corps at the age of 15. He was a self-made man, worked his way up in SWB. At retirement he restored his home, enjoyed farming and restoration of cars and tractors. Chester was a collector of guns, knives and clocks. He kept busy with a variety of hobbies to include photography and gardening.
Chester is survived by his children, Doris Bernier and Ron, David Johnson and Carol, Diann Cummings and Brad, Darlene Thom, Denise Moseley and Joe; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brother Eddie Johnson; several nieces, nephews and host of other relatives and friends.
Chester is preceded in death by his parents, and wife.
