Service for Christine (Williams) Baskett, 94, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Monday, October 26, 2020, in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Mr. Clyde Slimp will officiate. Pallbearers will be Keith Scarbrough, Wesley Scarbrough, C.J. Prater, Cody Baskett, Dr. Gregory Kraus, and Mark Crabtree. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Sunday, October 25, 2020 at the funeral home.
Christine Baskett passed away Sunday, October 18, 2020 in Cleburne. She was born July 26, 1926 in Lamesa, Texas to John L. and Gladys Alpha (Oliver) Williams. She married Robert Earl Baskett on December 5, 1945 in Cleburne. She was a plastic part fabricator. Mrs. Baskett was a Westhill Church of Christ member.
Christine was a hardworking mother both inside and outside the home. She had a strong will to live. She loved to cook and feed those she loved. She loved her family so much. She loved to crochet, play cards and dominos, loved reading and crossword puzzles. Mrs. Baskett also enjoyed camping, fishing and RVing.
Survivors include sons, Charles Baskett and wife, Hazel, and Johnny Baskett and wife, Linda; grandchildren, Lisa Scarbrough and husband, Keith, Christi Baskett, Brian Baskett and wife, Jessika, Cody Baskett; step-grandchildren, Tammy Tortell and husband Fred and Dr. Gregory Krauss and wife Sharon; 14 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and sister, Jimmie Ruth Crabtree and husband Jack; and multiple nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband Robert Earl Baskett in 1990; 3 brothers; 1 sister; and daughter-in-law, Nell Marie Baskett.
