Christy Lynn Carpenter

Service for Christy Lynn (Smith) Carpenter, 57, of Cleburne will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 30, 2017 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home Chapel. The Reverend Kim Long will officiate. Burial will be in the Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Carpenter died Friday, August 25, 2017 at her home in Cleburne. She was born August 4, 1960 in Cleburne to William Elihue and Billie Maude Joy Smith. Christie married Harley Joe Carpenter on November 23, 1979 in Cleburne. Mrs. Carpenter worked in the cutting department of Walls Industries for 20 years and in Quality Control at the Wal-Mart Distribution Center for 15 years. She enjoyed camping and fishing; and reading on her outdoor swing. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.

Survivors include her husband, Harley Carpenter, son, Justin Carpenter and wife, Brandi; sister, Betty Jones and fiancée, Dale Niekamp; brother-in-law, Donald Carpenter and wife, Valinda; aunt, Wanza Howell known as "Aunt Munk"; nephew, Jason Jones and wife, Courtnay; their son Jay; grand dogs, Madden and Maci; and numerous other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Clarissa "C.J." Smith; grandparents, John Berry Smith and Florence Ethel Smith and beloved dog, Cheech.
