Graveside services for Claris Annette Morris, 87, of Roanoke, will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, June 2, 2011 in the Rosehill Cemetery, Cleburne. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. - 4:00 P.M. on Wednesday.

Claris Annette Morris passed away in Grapevine on Sunday, May 29, 2011. She was born to Shirel Glen and Mabel Annie Shelley Standridge on October 19, 1923 in Johnson County. Annette married Albert Ezell Morris in 1943 in Cleburne. She was of the Baptist faith, having grown up in Field Street Baptist Church. As an adult, she taught Sunday School, remaining active in church activities throughout her life. She worked as an Executive Secretary with the Oklahoma City ISD for many years. She dedicated her life to her family. She enjoyed sewing and quilting. She was an avid reader and a great organizer. Annette was musical. She was a giver, known to donate to numerous causes. Her curious nature and love for life will be missed greatly by all those who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Survivors include her daughter, Lisa Wooten and her husband, Cal; grandchildren, Major Jeffrey Van Ness, Mark Van Ness, Sherri Washington, and Megan Wooten; numerous great grandchildren; sister, Barbara Standridge Horton of Grand Prairie; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
