A private graveside service for Claudine B. Kitts, 96, of Cleburne, Texas and formerly of Fulton, NY, will be held at a later date in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Fulton, NY under the direction of Foster Funeral Home, Fulton, NY.
Claudine B. Kitts was born to Orlon Stewart and Gertrude B. Tilton Taft on April 11, 1927 in Fulton, NY. She resided most of her life in Fulton, NY but lived in Cleburne, TX from 1992-2001. She returned to Fulton in 2001 where she remained until the passing in January of 2010 of her husband, Donald Kitts. At that time, she then moved back to Cleburne to reside with her daughter.
She graduated from Fulton High School in 1944, attended Oswego State Teachers College and the University of Buffalo. Claudine worked part-time at Socony Vacuum Oil Company of Buffalo as well as Fulton Schools and Oswego County Department of Social Services. She was a lifetime member of the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, Fulton, NY, where she and Don were married on April 21, 1946 (Easter Sunday). They were married for 63 years at the time of his passing. Claudine was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Military Order of the Purple Heart. She enjoyed gardening, painting and spending time with family and friends. Claudine is preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Robert Taft and his wife, Ida Bracy Taft; brother-in-law, William Rebeor and his wife, Pauline (Kitts) Rebeor; sister-in-law, Averill (Kitts) Breault; sister-in-law, Lorraine Taft; and brother-in-law, Paul Kitts.
Survivors include her son, Allan Kitts and his wife, Frances; daughter, Deborah K. Matthews; Grandchildren, Aaron & Michelle Kitts, Valerie & Matt Dininni, Christina & Ed Lepcyzk, Jay & Amber Matthews, and Jennifer Matthews; great grandchildren, Gabrielle Dininni, Hannah Dininni, Carter Kitts, Emily Matthews and Lily Lepcyzk; Brother, Gordon Taft; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
