Services for James Clayton Jones, 83, of Cleburne, will be conducted Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Judge Ronny McBroom and Mr. Ray Triplett will officiate. Burial will follow in the Morgan Cemetery in Morgan, Texas. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Friday.


Clayton Jones passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2020 in Keene. He was born August 30, 1936 in Cleburne to Ernest Clayton and Alta Mae (Lawson) Jones. He married Darlene Bullard on January 28, 1965 in Cleburne. Mr. Jones was an electrical engineer with a Master’s Degree in Science. He retired from Lockheed-Martin. He was an avid hunter and loved gardening.


Survivors include his wife, Darlene Jones of Cleburne; daughter, Jamie Jones of Cleburne; and grandchildren, Brandan Hart and Mason Harnden; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.


He was preceded in death by his daughter, Stephanie Anne Jones Harnden; parents; 2 sisters; Lonita Rogers and Ernestine McMahon; and nephew, Wayne McMahon.
