C.M. Thompson

Graveside service for Reverend C.M. Thompson Jr., 85, of Cleburne will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, March 10, 2011 at Johnson Cemetery in Munday, TX. The Reverend Mike Thompson will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-6:30 P.M. Wednesday at the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home.

Reverend Thompson passed away Monday, March 7, 2011 in Cleburne. He was born November 1, 1925 in Knox City, TX to C.M. Sr. and Eula Lee Walker Thompson. He married Dorothy Jean Copeland on December 22, 1946 in Goree, TX. Reverend Thompson was of the Baptist faith. He received his Masters of Divinity from Southwestern Theology in Ft. Worth and served as a Minister for over 35 years in Texas and Eastern New Mexico.

He loved his Lord, his family and playing dominos. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed telling stories.

Survivors include his son, Reverend Mike Thompson and wife Karen of Cleburne; grandchildren, Seth Thompson, Johanna Belford and husband Matthew and Sarah Johnson and husband Matt; one great grandchild, Samuel Belford; and his faithful dog, Gabby. He was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife, Dorothy Jean Thompson on Oct. 5, 2003 and one son, Brian Keith Thompson in 1982.
