He married Shawna Leeanne Nelson on May 29, 1999, in Cleburne. He worked for over 25 years in the oilfield industry. Cody was a member of Cornerstone PCG Church in Cleburne. It has been said that he was a man of great faith, contagious laughter and sense of humor, as well as having a big heart and sweet nature. Cody was a “people person”. Everyone loved him and he loved to visit with everyone every chance he got. He was easy to talk to but also a man who got to the point at the same time. He enjoyed spending time fishing, hunting, being outdoors in general or gaming. Cody was an avid writer of his thoughts to include scripture, poems, phrases and most of all his reminders to be thankful to God for specific things in his life. Cody left an everlasting mark on those around him and will be missed greatly.
Cody is survived by his wife, Shawna Meek; children, Haven, Chance, Jaden, Hopelynn, and Gracee Meek; parents, Phillip and Terri Lightsey; brother, Michael Meek; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father.
