Service for Connie Ruth Rice, 90, of Granbury, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, September 10, 2022, in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Chaplain Don Anderson will officiate. Burial to follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 P.M., Friday, September 9, 2022, at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Kevin Yale, Justin Hanks, Jason Everidge, Jarret Slatten, Kevin Dudley, and Kyle Hanks.
Connie passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2022, in Granbury. She was born September 18, 1931, in Cleburne to James Homer Preston and Annie Marie (Paddock) Parker. Connie married Kenneth Floyd Rice on April 14, 1979, in Cleburne. She was of the Baptist faith. Connie worked as a seamstress for Tony Llama and Wall Industries. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Cleburne lodge. Connie was a good person at heart and giving. She enjoyed playing her luck every chance she could. She spent countless hours crocheting. Her grandchildren were the highlight of her life. Her strong will and independent streak will be remembered for years to come.
Connie is survived by her children, Tommy Howe and wife, Susan, Sherry Hussong and husband, James; daughter-in-law, Vickie Howe; grandchildren, Jennifer & Jason, Christy & Justin, Marty & Ashley, Brandie & Kevin, Misty & Pancho, and Curtis; great-grandchildren, Dakota, Hailey, Whitney, Britney, Lane, Ryan, Kaylee, Karley, Austin, Calie, Jaxton and Madeline; great-great-grandchildren, Denton, Dawson, Patrick, Landon and Hudson; numerous nieces, nephews and host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons, Timmy Joe Howe and Marty Wayne Howe; great-grandchildren, Denton and Dalton; siblings, James Preston, Shirley Warnica, Helen Powell, and Patsy Pierce.
