Graveside service for Curtis T. Laird, 86, of Grandview will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at Grandview Cemetery. Mr. Buddy Fry will officiate. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Tuesday, at Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home.

Curtis T. Laird passed away Sunday, December 7, 2014 in Grandview. He was born September 10, 1928 in Dallas to Morgan Caldwell and Hazel Vern Curtis Laird. He married Lanell Ann Jones on November 22, 1955 in Cleburne.

Mr. Laird worked as a contractor in flooring and was a longtime farmer. He enjoyed remodeling homes and staying busy. Curtis was a man of great character and simple but profound advice. He was a giving man, who truly loved talking to people. He enjoyed playing pool, ping pong, and skating in his younger years as well as traveling with his family. Curtis was a sports fan of football and baseball, and an avid reader of news magazines. He had a great sense of humor and the ability to bring laughter to any occasion. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Grandview. His love of life and family will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his wife, Lanell Laird; children Curtis Lyndon Laird and Harold Wade Laird and wife Susan; grandchildren, Michael Wade Laird and wife Claudia, Lauren Ruth Raley and husband Tim, Daniel Lyndon Laird, and Stephanie Michelle Laird; great grandchildren, Caleb Matthew Power and Alana Marie Laird; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Matthew McCullough Laird.
