A Celebration of Life Service for Curtis Owen, 83, of Cleburne, will be held from 2-4 P.M. Saturday, February 26, 2011 in the Cleburne Bible Church.
Mr. Owen passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2011 in Cleburne. He was born to Homer Curtis, Sr. and Archie Hobson Owen on January 10, 1928 in Rogers, Texas. He married Hazel Ann Waters on May 28, 1949 in Cleburne. Curtis served in the United States Navy and National Guard. He was a member of the Cleburne Bible Church and The Garden Club. Curtis was in sales most of his life and worked as Club Manager for the Stage Coach Inn in Saledo, Texas in the early 1960s. He taught stained glass classes for numerous years through Community Education. Curtis was a lung cancer survivor of ten years. He was a devoted Christian and former deacon in the Presbyterian Church. Curtis was a good father and adoring grandfather. He made friends easily and was known for his outgoing personality. His kind nature and generous spirit will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the doctors and nurses that cared for Curtis in his time of need.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 62 years, Hazel Owen; sons and daughters in law, Bryan Curtis and Marianne Owen, and John Robert and Ramona Owen; grandchildren, Sean, Connie and Evan Owen; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
