Service for Curtis R. Durant, 87, of Cleburne will be conducted at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at Calvary Baptist Church in Cleburne. The Reverend Charles E. Payne will officiate, assisted by the Reverend Paul King. Graveside service will be at 2:30 P.M., Tuesday, in Tin Top Cemetery in Parker County. Pallbearers will be Mark Witt, Kevin McDaniel, Wesley Helton, Jeff Gilliam, Don Graff and Cody Jones. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Monday, at the funeral home.
Curtis R. Durant passed away Thursday, June 8, 2017 in Ft. Worth. He was born June 22, 1929 in Hood County to Reece W. and Alice Pauline Hunter Durant. He married Jimmie Lee Raney on March 30, 1946 in Acton.
Mr. Durant worked as a hand former for Bell Helicopter, retiring with 40 years of service. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 71 years, Jimmie Raney Durant of Cleburne; three daughters, Brenda Durant Graff and husband Don of Cleburne, Sharon Durant Sullivan and husband Ron of Houston, and Deborah Durant King and Mark Witt of Weatherford; brother, Chub Durant and wife Ann of Weatherford; sister, Rita Mae McMeekin of Tyler; three grandchildren, Kevin McDaniel and wife Donna of Cleburne, Brandi Johns of Grapevine and Angie Helton and husband Wesley of Weatherford; six great grandchildren, Devin, Ryan, Dylan, Sydney, Jacob, and Caysen; three great-great grandchildren, Savannah, Madi and Braylee; and many other relatives and close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Wayne, Cody and Dale Durant.
