Dan Stephens
Services for Dan Stephens, 80 of Cleburne, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, February 8, 2010 at Westhill Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 3:00-5:00 P.M. Sunday. Memorials may be made to the Christ Haven Children's Home, Keller, Texas or The Bridge at Westhill Church of Christ in honor of Dan Stephens.
Dan Stephens passed away Friday, February 5, 2010 in Fort Worth. He was born to George Osborn and Alma Myrtle Faires Stephens on March 16, 1929 in Cleburne. Dan served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He worked 34 years with Santa Fe Railroad; 30 years as owner and operator of Stephens Upholstery; and for the last 15 years making furniture and wood carving. He was a founding member of the Nolan Rover Chippers club. Dan, along with his wife served as ministry leaders with the 39ers at Westhill Church of Christ. He will be missed greatly by all those that knew and loved him. Dan is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty Polson Stephens; infant sister, Alma Louise Stephens; and great granddaughter, Alexis Marie Kammerdiner.
Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Pat Stephens; children and their spouses, James Rodney (Jim) and Pat Stephens, Valerie and Ben Hanna, and Kandi Thomas; grandchildren, Timothy James Stephens, Jimmy Dan Stephens, Jennifer Stephens, Briklin Hanna and Alyssa, Taylor Hanna, Kellan Hanna, Casey Homesley and Amanda Thomas; great grandchildren, Dakota Ray, Denver Dale, Aidan Drake and Matthew Deane Stephens, Guy Whitford Morse,V., Alison Davis, Allen Stephens and Cherilyn Riley Hanna; sister, Georgialee Madsen; several nieces and nephews; step sons, Cliff Kammerdiner Jr. and April, Gregory Todd Kammerdiner Sr. and Kay; step grandchildren, Cliff III., James Blakeney, Angela and Laura Kammerdiner, Todd Kammerdiner and Natalie, and Julia Ekpo and Lloyd; step great grandchildren, Esther Lillian and Micha Abraham Ekpo, Logan Todd and Nathan Grant Kammerdiner; as well as a host of other friends and relatives.
