Danny Shrader

Funeral services for Danny Shrader, 74, of Godley, will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Thursday, March 28, 2024 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Coleman officiating. Burial will follow in Godley Cemetery. There will be a time of visitation from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 27, 2024. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of Bristol Hospice for the loving care provided to Danny and the family in his last days.

Danny Shrader passed away in his home, surrounded by loved ones on Saturday, March 23, 2024. He was born to Emmett Maiden and Oma J. Godsey Shrader on September 29, 1949 in Pearisburg, VA. Danny married the love of his life, Rita Katherine Beasley Shrader on January 24, 1970 in Cleburne, Texas. They were married 54 years at the time of his passing. Danny was of the Baptist faith. He retired after 45 years of service with Johns Manville in Cleburne as a Maintenance Shift Mechanic in 2012. He was a member of the Quarter Century Club at Johns Manville. Danny has been described as having a strong will and independent streak, but also as an easy-going man who made friends wherever he went. He enjoyed a good cup of coffee and food with friends and family most of all. Danny was a Harley Davidson motorcycle man who also restored classic cars. There wasn’t much that he couldn’t fix. He spent many hours watching westerns and sharing his wisdom with those closest to him. His wit and great sense of humor will be missed greatly. Danny was preceded in death by his father, Emmett Maiden Shrader; mother, Oma J. Godsey Shrader Dunham; daughter, Diana Christine Shrader Barrett; son-in-law, David Barrett; and his beloved dog, Dezel.

Survivors include his wife, Rita Shrader; grandchildren & their spouses, Dustin & Amanda Barrett, Daniel & Rayni Barrett, Danci & Tristan Lee, and Dana & Tanner Watters; great grandchildren, Brittany Wittu, Remington Barrett, and Cruz Barrett; siblings & their spouses, Dreama & Jerry Shaw, and Diana & Robert Bonotto; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
