David Doty

Service for David Earl Doty, 61, of Rio Vista will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013 at Bethel Temple Assembly of God. The Reverend Mike Mizell will officiate. Burial will be in Rio Vista Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dale Stafford, James Doty, Gregory Doty, Blake Dagley, Jason Lacy, and Joe Wallis. Honorary pallbearers will be friends and co-workers from Chaparral Steel. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Friday, at the funeral home.

Mr. Doty passed away Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013 in Houston. He was born Sept. 28, 1951 in Cleburne to Isaac and Maxine (Hogan) Doty. He married Carolyn Jean Rice on Aug. 12, 1971 in Rio Vista.

Mr. Doty worked as a welder for nearly 36 years at Chaparral Steel Company. He enjoyed hunting and being outdoors. David was a good and honorable man and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Carolyn Doty; son, Cleve Doty; father, Isaac Doty; brother, Jimmy Doty and wife Brenda; and sister, Debbie Stafford and husband Dale. He was preceded in death by his mother, Maxine Doty.
