Graveside services for David Pettigrew, 64, of Aledo, will be conducted in the Cahill Cemetery on Sunday, March 4, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. Dr. Terry Williams will officiate. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Saturday at the Crosier Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home.
Mr. Pettigrew passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2012 in Cleburne. He was born to Frank Marion and Minnie Belle Owens Pettigrew on June 30, 1947 in Cleburne. He attended Alvarado schools, graduating in 1965. David worked for the Rock Island Railroad for over 25 years, retiring in 2009. He married Kathy Harper on May 1, 1984 in Fort Worth. He was of Christian faith. David was a talented story teller, especially of railroad stories. He enjoyed fishing and gaming, especially Keno and gambling at Winstar Casinos. He was a news buff and avid sports fan. David touched the lives of many people with his sense of humor and smile. He will be missed tremendously by all who knew and loved him. David was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Kathy Pettigrew; and brothers, Ardel, Phil, and William (Bill) Pettigrew.
Survivors include his two daughters, Kim Ellis and husband, Dan, and Roni Miller and husband, Bryan; one son, David Bryan Pettigrew and wife, Summer; 8 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; sisters, Joyce Sain, Oleta Blue, and Bonnie Wood; brother, Sid Pettigrew; many nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the family and friends that extended their help and loving support throughout David's final journey.
