Delmer West
Services for Delmer Gene West, 69, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 18, 2010 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. The Rev. Ron Liles will officiate. Burial will be in the Greenacres Memorial Park. Visitation will be Thursday from 6-8 p.m. Pallbearers are Bill Bonham, Wayne Birchfield, Rob Rotenberry, Greg Gilbert, Billy Ed Walker and Chad Eubanks. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Don Milligan, Odie Curlee, and nephews, Alan Borden, Douglas Marshall, Cory Borden and Dustin Marshall.
Delmer Gene West passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2010 in Cleburne. He was born January 12, 1941 in Cleburne to Walter F. West and Elva West Adams. He married Naomi Taylor on July 1, 1966 in Weatherford.
Mr. West owned and operated Cleburne Plumbing Comany and retired in 1996 after 30 years in business. He was selected as a member of the All-Time Cleburne Yellow Jackets baseball team. He also was running back for the Cleburne High School football team in the late 1950's. He was a member of the Texas Thoroughbred Racing Association and was of the Christian faith.
Delmer West is survived by his sister, Sharon Wright and husband Howard; brother, Byron West all of Burleson; sisters-in-law, Nelda Borden and husband, Wilson of Cleburne and Nadine Marshall and husband, Roger of Ft. Worth; several loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; many relatives and friends and special friend, Viola Meadows. He was preceded in death by wife, Naomi in 2004 and father, Walter in 1960; mother, Elva in 2004 and nephew, Adam West in 2000.
