Dennis Birchfield

Dennis Raymond Birchfield of Cleburne, Texas passed away peacefully in his home on October 27th, 2021. He was 76 years old. Graveside services will be 12pm Saturday, November 6th, 2021 at the Rio Vista Cemetery in Rio Vista, Texas. Visitation will be 6-8pm Friday, November 5th, 2021 at the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home.

Dennis was born April 14, 1945 in Fort Worth, Texas to Raymond Wesley and Vera Arlee Seiber Birchfield. On July 13th of 1965 he married Ms. Janie Sue Westerman. They shared 55 loving years of marriage before Janie’s passing in 2020. Dennis was a heavy machinist not just once, but twice retired. He retired from General Dynamics as well as Brown and Root. However, his diligent work ethic never truly retired. He possessed a constant willingness to help others without praise. Dennis was giving of his time and love. He had the talent of a true handy man, and could fix just about anything. Another one of his talents was playing the steel guitar, he did so along side his brothers in their very own band. His family described him as a hardworking, humble man with deep family values. They will miss his gentle personality, his loving soul and his humor.


Dennis is survived by his children Denise Johnson and husband Tommy, of Cleburne, and Dennis Raymond Birchfield Jr. also of Cleburne. His grandchildren; Breanna Corbitt, Cassidi Fisher and husband Houston, Austin Johnson, Kevin Birchfield and wife Kandice, Danielle Birchfield and Brandon Birchfield. His great grandchildren; Addyson Fisher, Jaxon Fisher, Riverlyn Birchfield, Hunter Johnson, and Remington Johnson. Siblings; Peggy Pirkle, Bonnie Parnell and Steve Birchfield.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Janie Birchfield; brother Jack Birchfield and his parents.
