Derrell passed away March 17, 2023 in Fort Worth. He was born June 8, 1951 in Jefferson, Texas to Robert Oscar and Bettie Lou Jones DeLaune. Derrell married Bessie Elizabeth “Liz” Bradshaw on August 7, 1970 in Jefferson, Texas. Derrell was a communication lineman since 2000. Working side by side with his sons in multiple jobs brought him great joy. He was stubborn with a dry since of humor. In his younger years he enjoyed fishing and hunting. Derrell also collected coins and did leather work.His strong will and independent streak will be greatly missed.

Derrell is survived by his wife, Liz DeLaune; children, Wayne DeLaune, Alisha Patino and husband, Hector, and James DeLaune; grandchildren, Sam DeLaune, Jolene Patino, Makayla Patino, Chase DeLaune and Bella DeLaune; great-grandson, Canyon DeLaune; siblings, Troy DeLaune and wife, Patsy and Pam Chappell; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Derrell is preceded in death by his parents; son, Darren DeLaune; siblings, Roy DeLaune and Paul DeLaune.
