Dianne Maxey Ashley, 78, of Cleburne, Texas passed away on Mother’s Day Sunday, May 14, 2023, in Cleburne surrounded by her family as she faced the sunset of her days on earth and entered her rest joining her precious Savior in eternity. She was born February 28, 1945, in Winnfield, Louisiana to Elton Albert Maxey and Lela Belle Smith. Dianne met the love of her life, Francis Ashley in the small oil field town of Tullos, Louisiana. They were married June 26, 1964, and would have soon celebrated 59 years together. Dianne was a homemaker and a member of the First United Pentecostal Family Church.
Dianne was an exceptional wife, mother, and affectionately known to her grandchildren as Grandmommy. She was always there when we needed her to lend a listening ear and honest counsel. Dianne cared deeply for her family and was a fierce proponent of the importance of the family regularly spending quality time together making memories. She was her happiest when the family was gathered around the table. She understood the importance of creating memories, sacrificing time and effort to make family time a regular part of the Ashley family. Her hobbies were journaling and writing memories about her family and mostly of her three grandsons. One of her favorite past times was taking joy rides down the back roads holding hands with her sweetheart as they listened to “Moon River.”
Dianne was a well-loved Pastor’s wife serving beside her husband in ministry for 59 years as pianist, music director, and Ladies’ Ministry Director. Her greatest passion was teaching the Greater Life Adult Sunday School Class where she passionately taught life lessons from the precious Word of God. She was a woman of unwavering, fearless faith with a strong belief in prayer which she practiced daily without fail. Dianne faithfully served the First United Pentecostal Family Church for 47 years with the last 13 years as Bishop’s wife.
