Graveside services for Dicie Katherine Montgomery Johnson, 88, of Cleburne will be conducted at 3:00 P.M., Tuesday, December 7, 2010 in the Rosehill Cemetery, Cleburne. Memorials may be made to the Community Hospice of Texas at 301 Medpark Circle, Burleson, Texas 76028.
Mrs. Johnson passed away at the Community Hospice of Texas in Burleson on Saturday, December 4, 2010. She was born March 8, 1922 in rural Cross Lanes, Crawford County, Arkansas to Charles Robert and Dora Elizabeth Montgomery. The family moved to Texas in 1935 and Dicie graduated from Cleburne High School. She worked for Consolidate Aircraft in Fort Worth during World War II, and was a Telephone Operator in Cleburne for many years before the automated dial system was installed. Dicie married Racy Jack Johnson, Jr. in Cleburne on January 15, 1948. He preceded her in death on August 3, 1995 in St. Luke's Hospital in Houston. They had no children, but loved every child in their circle of friends. Dicie was a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses religion and was very active in that capacity for many years. She recently donated land to allow for the building of a new Kingdom Hall in Cleburne. Dicie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and sisters, Vivian Clara Joslin of Ft. Smith, Arkansas; and Mildred Mae Cradduck of Cleburne.
