Dixie Schmidt

Graveside service for Dixie Schmidt, 82, of Cleburne will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, June 13, 2012 in Greenacres Memorial Park. The Reverend Danny Niedecken will officiate.

Mrs. Schmidt passed away Monday, June 11, 2012 in Cleburne. She was born Jan. 8, 1930 in Cleburne to Tom and Opal Saunders Gosdin. She married Albert A. Schmidt on Dec. 4, 1947 in Weatherford.

Mrs. Schmidt was a devoted mother, grandmother and homemaker. She loved her Lord and her family, dedicating her life to them. She enjoyed watching ministries and old westerns on television. She was a member of the Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church and spent countless hours reading her Bible. Her witty character and loving spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her grandchildren, Samantha Edsel and husband Marc, Stephanie Jobe and husband Adam, and Aaron Schmidt and wife Amanda; great grandchildren, Tyler Edsel, Carter Edsel, Penelope Schmidt, Jery Jobe and Vaughan Schmidt; sisters, Quanita Clark and Jerry Ingle; brother, Donald Gosdin; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert A. Schmidt on Dec. 20, 1997; and son, Jerry Wayne Schmidt.
