Don Gist

Services for Don Kathryn Gist, 93, of Rio Vista, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, July 1, 2010 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Mr. Cary Gist will officiate. Pallbearers are Joe Bratcher, Kevin, Wade, Ty, Mike and Bradley Gist. Honorary pallbearers are Perry Gist, Bruce Nix and Seth Gist. Burial will be in Rio Vista Cemetery. Visitation is from 4:00-6:00 P.M. Wednesday.

Don Kathryn Gist passed away Sunday, June 27, 2010 in Cleburne. She was born June 1, 1917 in Johnson County to Colman and Lillie Grubbs Gist. She graduated from North Texas State Teachers College in Denton. She was an executive secretary at E.H. Covington Construction for more than 40 years before retiring.

Survivors include her sister, Vera Bratcher of Keene; two brothers, Calvin Gist and wife, Pearl of Rio Vista and Cary Gist of Racine, Wisconsin; nieces, Jane Matthews, Selene Nix, Caroline Milner and Angela Gist; nephews, Joe Bratcher, Kevin, Wade, Perry, Mike and Bradley Gist; several great and great-great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Gist; very special aunt and uncle, Emory and Dollie Covington; nephew, Monte Bratcher and great nephew, Mikel Joe Fuller.
